Next goal

A year of running costs: the website, the database and email. After that, every dollar pays for building time.

We update these numbers by hand on the 1st of each month. They show what has actually arrived, after payment fees.

The next eight skills.

Each of these has its own teachers, schools and books, and some have been taught for well over a century. For each one, you’ll see what you would actually do.

  1. 00

    Mind Sight

    In the beta now

With your eyes covered, you sense which colour is on a screen, then which card is on a table, and later where a partner is standing in a room. 26 exercises across six tiers.

Built. The daily session, the scoring and the record of your tries were all made for Mind Sight, and every skill below will use them too.

  2. 01

    Telepathy

    $2,500

Sensing what another person is seeing or thinking. University labs teach it with a method called the ganzfeld. You lie back with soft red light over your closed eyes and a steady hiss in your headphones, while a partner in another room looks at a picture. For about half an hour you describe out loud whatever comes to mind. Afterwards you’re shown four pictures and choose the one you think your partner was looking at.

  3. 02

    Remote viewing

    $6,000

The method the US Army used. You’re given only a reference number for a hidden target, which might be a place, a building or an object. You sketch your first impression within a second, then note colours, textures, sounds and sizes, building up a description over six stages.

  4. 03

    Precognition

    $9,000

Sensing something before it happens. You make your choice first, and only then does the app pick the answer. The answer didn’t exist yet when you chose, so nothing about it could have reached you through your ordinary senses.

  5. 04

    Dowsing

    $13,000

Finding something hidden with a pendulum or a pair of bent metal rods, which move in your hands when you’re over what you’re looking for. Dowsers have searched for water this way for centuries, and the skill has passed from neighbour to neighbour for generations. The British Society of Dowsers formed in the 1930s and the American Society of Dowsers in 1961, and both still teach it. Many dowsers also hold a pendulum over a map to find a spot from far away.

  6. 05

    Psychometry

    $16,000

Holding an object and describing its history and the person it belongs to. The American doctor Joseph Rodes Buchanan named it in 1842, and Spiritualist development circles have taught it ever since. In a practice group, you’d hold a friend’s object without knowing whose it is, describe whatever comes to you, and then choose its owner from four photos.

  7. 06

    Astral projection

    $20,000

Leaving your body in awareness and moving around while your body rests, also called an out-of-body experience. The best-known teacher is Robert Monroe, whose book Journeys Out of the Body came out in 1971. His Gateway recordings use binaural beats, like our daily session does, and the US Army wrote a report on them in 1983. You learn to relax deeply while staying awake, then to rise or roll out of your body. To check what you saw, a number or picture is placed where you can’t see it from where you’re lying, and you report it when you return.

  8. 07

    Channeling and mediumship

    $25,000

Mediumship is receiving messages from people who have died. Channeling is speaking or writing words that come from a source beyond yourself, as Jane Roberts did for more than twenty years in the books known as the Seth material. Both are taught in development circles and at schools like the Arthur Findlay College in England, which has trained mediums since 1964. In the app, you’d give a reading for a stranger you know only by first name. They’re shown your reading beside one written for someone else, and pick the one that fits them.

  9. 08

    Contact meditation

    $30,000

Contact meditation is a way for a group to reach out to intelligence beyond our planet, rather than waiting for it to appear. Dr Steven Greer popularised it after founding the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence in 1990, under the name CE-5, short for close encounters of the fifth kind. Small groups now practise it all over the world. A group meets outdoors at night and meditates together. In their minds they picture the place where they’re gathered as it looks from space, and invite contact. Then they watch the sky and note what they see.

Every skill on this list will be free to practise

Supporting Psichronize doesn’t buy you early access or a private feature. It pays to build each skill for everyone who practises, including people who never pay anything. That’s how we keep the daily practice free.

How supporting works.

Help build what comes next.

Give any amount you like, once. It pays the running costs first, then building time for the next skill.

Supporting is optional. The daily practice is free either way.
